General Summary:

Fitness attendant ensures that the Fitness Center is an inviting place that is well-stocked, clean, and organized for members’ enjoyment as well as the overall operation of the facility.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Primary Duties
  • Enthusiastically greet and interact with members and guests as they enter and exit the facility.
  • Explaining, promoting and registering members for various programs, classes and activities.
  • Teaching members and guests basic equipment set up.
  • Setting up, maintaining, putting away and cleaning equipment.
  • Ensuring a clean and safe facility at all times.
  • Organizing and stocking supplies, answering phone taking and delivering messages.
  • Reporting complaints, ensuring members are signing in, maintaining equipment maintenance records and enforcing rules and regulations of facility.

• Work as part of a team or collaborate with colleagues.

Certification/Education and Experience:

• General knowledge and interest in fitness
• First Aid or CPR certification preferred or will obtain within 90 days of employment.

Working Condition:

• Flexible work schedule including days/evenings/weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

• The person in this position constantly communicates with members, guests, colleagues, and managers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
• Adjusting or moving objects up to 40 pounds in all directions.
• Frequently positions self to complete daily tasks.
